    What is Commodity content?

Commodity content is generic content based on common knowledge that anyone could write and that adds little unique insight.

Google uses "7 Tips for First-Time Homebuyers" as an example, and recommends non-commodity content with unique expert or first-hand takes instead.

Why it matters for your business

If your page says what a hundred other pages say, an AI has no reason to pick yours. Commodity content is easy to produce and easy to ignore.
